The Diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Bolivia were established as far back as 1963. The two countries have collaborated and continued to cooperate at multilateral fora, particularly as members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G-77.
The non-resident Ambassador of Bolivia in New Delhi, India is concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka. The concurrence for the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Brazil to be appointed as the non-resident Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Bolivia is awaited.
