Sri Lankan Citizens

  • The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brasilia, Brazil provides consular assistance to Sri Lankan citizens who are to be deported by immigration authorities of Brazil and other countries in South America upon requests.
  • Accordingly, Sri Lankan deportees in South America who are in need of a temporary Sri Lankan travel document are required to submit the following documents to the Sri Lanka Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil through the pertinent local authority under whose authority the deportation to be taken place.
  • Required documents for a temporary Sri Lankan travel document;
    • Official request from the pertinent local immigration or police authority indicating the details of the deportee and cause/s for deportation
    • Removal order from the Immigration Judge/court
    • Duly filled passport application form of the deportee
    • Declaration form (Form D1 &D2)
    • Copy of the current passport of the deportee which may have been expired, lost or damaged
    • Original Birth Certificate of the deportee
    • Original or copy of Sri Lankan National Identification Card or Sri Lankan Driving Licence of the deportee
    • Tentative travel particulars of the deportee, i.e. copy of air tickets
    • 02 colour photographs taken within 1 month (size: 4.5cmX3.5cm)
    • Fees for the temporary travel document
