- The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brasília, Brazil provides attestation services for Commercial/Export Documents issued by institution in Brazil or other countries in South America who intend to submit such documents to respective authorities, institutions or business partners in Sri Lanka.
- The general rules of Consular Services provided by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brasília, Brazil shall apply to the attestation of commercial documents in addition to the following:
- Letter of request by the applicant explaining the requirement of attestation
- Original document/s to be attested-documents in foreign language should be submitted with certified copy of English transalation.
- Documents issued by the government authorities, institutions or commercial entities in Brazil must be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil prior to their submission to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brasilia, Brazil for attestation.
- Documents issued by the government authorities, institutions or commercial entities in other countries in South America must be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin of the document or the diplomatic representation, i.e. resident diplomatic Mission (Embassy/Consulate) of the particular country in Brazil prior to their submission to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brasilia, Brazil for attestation.
- Any commercial invoice, bill of lading, health certificates, laboratory certificates, analysis reports, phytosanitary certificates, quarantine certificates must be accompanied where applicable by a Certificate of Origin (CO) issued and approved/stamped by a Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin of the document.
- Certified copies of documents will not be attested unless they were certified by the issuer and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affair of the corresponding country
- Original National Identification Card/Passport of the applicant
- In case of sending documents by post, a certified copy of the ID card and/or a copy of the valid passport of the applicant.
