Under the COVID-19 Situation

As per the regulations introduced by the Government of Sri Lanka under the current COVID-19 pandemic, Sri Lankan citizens living abroad who wish to return to Sri Lanka should obtain prior approval from the Presidential Task Force to prevent COVID-19 (PSTF) through the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka along with the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority in Sri Lanka (CAASL).

Therefore, the Sri Lankan citizen living or stranded in Brazil and other countries in South America who wish to return to Sri Lanka during this on-going COVID-19 situation hereby advised to submit their request for a special entry permit along with the duly filled data sheet in the “Download of Applications“ menu and copy of the passport to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brazil in order to process the said applications in consultation with pertinent authorities in Sri Lanka.

Ex-Sri Lankans who wish to enter into Sri Lanka other than tourist purpose under COVID-19 situation should have to follow the procedure above reference and in additionally they are required to obtain an entry permission from the Controller (Visa) of the Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka by submitting relevant documents i.e. copy of the approval granted by the Presidential Task Force to prevent COVID-19 (PSTF), copy of the passport of the ex Sri Lankan through his/her family member in Sri Lanka.

Ex Sri Lankans and the Foreigners who in view of visiting Sri Lanka on tourist purpose are directed to follow the instructions given in the official website of the  Sri Lanka Tourism at the web link of https://www.srilanka.travel .
